Henry Ketcham

Henry King Ketcham (March 14, 1920 – June 1, 2001) was an American cartoonist renowned for creating the Dennis the Menace comic strip. He both wrote and illustrated it from 1951 until 1994 when he retired from the daily cartoon to focus on full-time painting in his home studio. Ketcham’s work earned him the prestigious Reuben Award for the strip in 1953. Today, other artists continue the legacy of Dennis the Menace.
