Adventures in the moon and other worlds

Adventures in the moon and other worlds

This work exhibits a level of genius that surpasses anything we’ve encountered in a single volume since Childe Harold was published. Despite having a completely different form, it resembles that splendid poem as a discursive philosophical essay. However, whereas Byron infused his brilliant ideas with the spirit of Spenser, our anonymous author has expressed his concepts using the vigorous prose style of the most distinguished old English writers. Regrettably, while he matches the potency of his predecessors, he doesn’t reduce the prolixity that has led their works to be quoted more often than they are read.
